Controversial social media influencer and media personality Andrew Kibe has lost his YouTube channel.

Spot checks by Viral Tea on Monday, September 11 revealed that all 3,000 videos on the channel that had amassed over 474,000 subscribers were unavailable.

Attempts to access the page were met with the following message "This page isn't available. Sorry about that. Try searching for something else."

Viral Tea established that the video streaming giant owned by Google terminated Kibe's account due to a violation of its terms of service.

"The YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated," a statement by YouTube reads in part. The exact reason for the termination was yet to be established.

Why Can YouTube Terminate Your Account?

YouTube can terminate an account if one repeatedly violates community guidelines or terms of service across any form of content like repeatedly posting abusive, hateful, and/or harassing videos or comments.

The platform can also terminate a channel if there is a single case of severe abuse such as predatory behaviour, spam or pornography, or dedication to a policy violation like hate speech, harassment, or impersonation.

YouTube can also terminate a channel due to copyright infringement claims. However, the platform has an appeal system in place where a user can contest the termination of his or her account.

"Don’t submit an appeal request more than once. Multiple requests increase the volume of reviews and cause delays in our response.

"Fill out the form as completely as possible including your Channel ID. The more information that you give us, the easier it will be to process your request," YouTube adds.

The abrupt closure of Kibe's account sparked various reactions on social media, both celebration and criticism, with the controversial content creator's name trending top on X (formerly Twitter) by the time of publishing this article.

"Train ili toka stenje kitambo, hizi ni kelele za chura. Time ya LIVE ni ile ile aisay (The train left the station a long time ago, these are frog noises. The time for LIVE is that one!)," Kibe reacted to the suspension, indicating he would still continue to churn content across other platforms.

Kibe, who operates out of Texas, USA after leaving a radio hosting gig in Kenya, has quickly risen up the social media ranks, with apt comparisons to British-American kickboxer Andrew Tate, with whom he shares a first name.

Locally, he has clashed with Kenyan celebrities such as Bahati and Diana, as well as former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, and fellow content creators.
