Content creator and law graduate Ivy Chelimo has threatened to take legal action against a male Twitter user who claimed she had dumped him after landing a job at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's office.

The user, Alvan Kirui, had alleged that he and Chelimo were an item before she became famous, something she has since dismissed.

He lamented on Tuesday, October 18 that the mastermind behind Gachagua's 'Riggy G' nickname had dumped him following the advice from her parents, and when he was at his lowest.

“This will always be my favourite picture I took of you. I can't believe your parents can advise you to leave me at my lowest.

"You know I love you, just remember all I've been doing for you, Ivy,” he captioned Chelimo’s photo on Twitter.

Chelimo in response had urged her followers to disregard Kirui's claims while revealing that she doesn't know him, nor has she been involved with him in any way.

However, Kirui kept asserting to his followers that he was still in love with her, a matter which forced Chelimo to announce that she would take further action against him.

"Please stop peddling lies using my name and photos.

"I will take legal action. Be informed," she stated on Friday, October 21.

Some of the netizens had claimed that it was only a matter of time before one of the unknown men would come out and claim that he had a relationship with Chelimo, more than a month after rising to fame following Gachagua's moniker.

Chelimo was rewarded with a job at DP Gachagua's communications team, which also includes George Ng'ong'a Macgoye as Chief of Staff to the Deputy President, Paul Muraya Mwangi as Gachagua's Private Secretary and Njeri Rugene as the Head of Communication Services in the DP's office.

This recent case is almost similar to one whereby a content creator purported to be a General Service Unit (GSU) officer accused YouTuber and influencer Eve Mungai of abandoning him while he was in despair.

Mungai took action by filing a defamation suit against him. She accompanied her lawyer to Kileleshwa Police Station on Friday, October 7 to record a statement on the allegations made by the purported officer, identified as Muendo Mailu (TikTok moniker CP Karao).

The lawyer further exposed Mailu's identity as an individual impersonating a police officer and threatening her with unprintable words captured in a video shared on social media, vices he added that Mailu will be charged with.
