Main Suspect In Eric Maigo Murder Arrested

Ann Adhiambo, alias Nut, the main suspect in the murder of Nairobi Hospital Acting Finance Director Eric Maigo has been arrested.
According to media reports, Adhiambo who has been on the run since Thursday last week, was arrested in Kibra slums in an intelligence-led operation by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives.
She is currently being held at the Muthaiga Police Station awaiting transfer to Kilimani Police Station which is handling the matter. She will be arraigned on Wednesday, September 27.
Police revealed that she was hiding at a friend’s house in the Bombolulu area when detectives who had been tipped off arrived at about 8 p.m.

However, police noted that Adhiambo, a minor believed to be between 15 to 17 years old, escaped arrest by a whisker after she left a house she had spent overnight in the Olympic area.
Witnesses who called the police disclosed that they later spotted her near the Cemetery area and Jamhuri while using a hood to hide her identity.
She was later traced to Riruta Satelite where she visited her aunt before leaving.
The detectives combed parts of Kibera slums and traced friends and relatives of the 17-year-old suspect as they tried to understand her background.
They also went to various health facilities in an effort to find out if she sought any medical help after she was captured on camera falling on sharp razors forming part of a war around where Maigo lived as she escaped the scene.
The team further stated that they are also conducting an analysis of Maigo’s lifestyle as part of their probe.
The arrest comes after DCI released photos of her while she was captured on CCTV escaping Maigo's residence in Woodley, Nairobi County, which led to detectives recovering her clothes.
"Detectives have recovered clothes believed to have been worn by the main suspect during the cold-blooded murder of Nairobi Hospital’s Acting Finance Director Eric Maigo, last Friday, September 15, 2023.
"The clothes a red checkered shirt and a grey pair of animal-print pants were found in a semi-permanent wooden shack in Bombolulu village, deep inside the sprawling Kibira settlement," stated DCI in part.
The probe would further reveal that Adhiambo is said to have sat her KCPE examination at the Dagoretti-approved school between 2021 and 2022.
Another suspect, Cynthia Lusega Andalo, was previously arrested and arraigned in connection with the gruesome murder but was set free by the court after the prosecution said they had no evidence to charge or even continue detaining the alleged suspect.
Maigo was on Friday, September 15 found dead in his home in Woodley Estate, Nairobi County, lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds. The motive behind the murder is yet to be established.
