The saga surrounding a woman who is the main suspect in the murder of Nairobi Hospital’s acting Finance Director Eric Maigo has taken a tailspin, a day after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) published photos of her leaving the scene where Maigo was found dead in Woodley Estate, Nairobi County.

DCI revealed that detectives managed to recover the woman's clothes which she was captured on CCTV wearing while escaping Maigo's residence.

The investigative agency added that the clothes were found abandoned in the informal Kibra residence, some four kilometres from Maigo's home.

"Detectives have recovered clothes believed to have been worn by the main suspect during the cold-blooded murder of Nairobi Hospital’s Acting Finance Director Eric Maigo, last Friday, September 15, 2023.

"The clothes a red checkered shirt and a grey pair of animal-print pants were found in a semi-permanent wooden shack in Bombolulu village, deep inside the sprawling Kibira settlement," stated DCI in part.

DCI identified the suspect as Ann Adhiambo, alias Nut, who is currently on the run and is believed to be between 15 to 17 years old.

She is said to have sat her KCPE examination at the Dagoretti-approved school between 2021 and 2022.

"Detectives are appealing to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the murder suspect to report to the nearest police station or call the #FichuakwaDCI hotline 0800 722 203," DCI appealed.

In the photos circulated by DCI on Thursday, September 21, Adhiambo was seen vaulting over the perimeter wall of Maigo's house to escape, not minding the razor wires erected atop the wall to keep out any intruders.

"The suspect who was captured leaving the victim's residence at Woodley Annex -Upper is believed to have been involved in the murder most foul before escaping through the back door," stated the DCI in part.

Two blood-stained knives believed to have been the murder weapons were recovered from the scene of the crime.

Maigo was on Friday, September 15 found dead in his home in Woodley Estate, Nairobi County, lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds.

Kilimani Police Station boss Moss Ndiwa initially revealed that Maigo's body had 10 stab wounds to the chest and the others to his sides. However, an autopsy conducted at the Lee Funeral Home on Saturday, September 16 revealed that Maigo had 25 stab wounds that caused his death.

So far only one suspect has been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder. The suspect identified as Cynthia Lusega Andalo was arrested and arraigned under miscellaneous application on Monday afternoon where police were allowed to hold her for five days as investigations continue.

Detectives believe she might have knowledge or worked with the main suspect as they were together earlier on the night of Maigo’s murder in his Woodley house

It was also established that Maigo’s killer used two kitchen knives in the bedroom attack.
