Beauty entrepreneur and Marini Naturals Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Michelle Ntalami on Wednesday, September 13 revealed that her mother was overjoyed by extensive media coverage regarding her decision to keep off from alcohol.

In a detailed Instagram post, Ntalami revealed that even though her mother knew about her bold decision of sobriety, she could not hide her excitement on seeing how local media houses such as Viral Tea picked up her previous statement on Tuesday, September 5 and published it as a news item.

"I recently shared my decision to stop alcohol. I was amazed to see that it was received with so much love and positivity, especially from the media! My mother knew about my decision.

"But when she saw the article, she was elated! She’s the one who brought it to my attention that the media picked it up, something I’d not even anticipated," she revealed.

Ntalami opened up on the difficulties celebrities encounter in the public eye, particularly messy clashes with the media for publishing false information about them.

"While this is totally understandable, we also so easily forget that it is the same media which also publishes positive stories about us when we win or do something positive.

"It is the same media that also builds us. So why then, do we only choose to focus on the negatives? Food for thought," she added.

Ntalami appreciated all of Kenya's online news websites, including this one, for sharing her story with their audiences, spreading positivity and feel-good stories to the masses which helped to preach the gospel of self-improvement, something she has been actively engaging in regarding her shift in lifestyle.

She extended her gratitude to her fans for showing her love and support, expressing hope that her move to get through her first month of sobriety not only brought joy to them but to her mother as well.

"Thank you for spreading the message on self-improvement. To most of you, thank you for also sharing the positives. And lastly, thank you for putting a smile on my Mom’s face.

"And to everyone else, thank you too for the love! I hope this message encourages you as well, to be grateful for everything in life, big or small, good and bad," she concluded.

On September 5, Ntalami revealed that there were instances she wanted to quit drinking as she felt it was not matching up to her current lifestyle, though she outlined that she had no alcohol problems of any nature, not even addiction.

"For one, the feeling, places, spaces and people I’d take it with would most times leave me feeling more empty and drained, than happy and fulfilled, especially and ironically, during the tough times of my life. I needed to make space for better things," she narrated.

The 39-year-old affirmed that she was always the type to 'handle her liquor', something not many people were capable of.

Moreover, she was fed up with dealing with the drama or statements uttered by people and actions done by them unto others while under the influence, and the results of going sober for a month have worked in her favour.
