Marini Naturals Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and social media personality Michelle Ntalami revealed on Monday, January 9 details of her conversation with slain model Edwin Chiloba regarding his relationship with Jackton Odhiambo, the prime suspect in his murder.

In her tribute to Chiloba on her Instagram page, Ntalami disclosed that they often talked about the relationship among other topics such as the dreams he had of going global in the fashion industry.

While expressing her sadness about how the world got to know about him in a tragic way, the 38-year-old entrepreneur noted that Chiloba's relationship had issues, and she tried talking him out of it, which turned out unsuccessful.

"Edwin, you had big dreams that you shared with me. Dreams of being a global fashion icon and making it to the runways of Milan and New York. We were getting you there. It’s heartbreaking to see that yes, you have now finally been recognized globally, but in such a tragic way.

"Painful, that he who claimed to love you broke your heart over and over, and eventually took your life. We talked about it so many times. That was NOT love. But that pure heart of yours would not let go. Oh darling," she wrote.

She added that the two met each other on Valentine's Day when Chiloba came all the way from Eldoret to the capital to see her, after taking notice of Ntalami's personal story with the world, so much that it moved him.

"The first photo is us on Valentine’s Day 2022, the very first time we met. He travelled all the way from Eldoret to Nairobi just to see me and give me this bouquet of roses, as he knew I wasn’t having the best one.

"Fast-forward to June, and he literally couldn’t wait for my birthday to celebrate. In true Edwin fashion, pun intended, he owned the room! Swipe for some cherished memories and see how he exuded so much love. This is the kind of friend I have lost," she added, affirming that Chiloba's killer would not know peace.

Three more suspects were arrested in connection to the murder of Chiloba and they included a cousin to the main suspect, Jackton Odhiambo, a friend and a taxi driver who were in possession of a metal box used to dispose of the body of the deceased.

Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Richard Odenyo on Monday, requested to be released on bond in a bid to continue supporting his family. The judge, however, denied the request and ruled in favour of the prosecution who filed an application seeking to hold the suspects for 21 days until the conclusion of the investigations.

According to Langas OCPD John Odhiambo, Jackton alongside his friends had plotted to execute Chiloba as a means of revenge after Chiloba cheated on him.

The murder drew global attention, with coverage on the same highlighted by international media houses such as CNN, Washington PostNew York Times, and The Guardian and the United States government expressing its willingness to enjoin in the murder, urging Kenyan authorities to thoroughly investigate it.

State Department Spokesperson Ned Price affirmed that the US government was willing to assist Kenya in the investigations.
