A video of Neno Evangelism Center founder Pastor James Ng’ang’a daring President William Ruto's government to arrest him went viral on Thursday, April 27.

Amidst the ongoing crackdown on cultism across the country, the controversial pastor while speaking through his Sasa TV channel urged the government to go after quack preachers it accuses of being fond of using controversial teachings to mislead the masses, including him.

This came amidst the government's pressure to impose regulations on churches across the country following the arrest of Pastors Paul Mackenzie, the leader of a cult-like religious group in Malindi, Kilifi County and Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New International Life Church in Kilifi.

Watch the video:

"I did not go to school like you guys but my phone receives money.

"The government should come for you and they will come, let them come for you and me included. Come and arrest us it is too much now," he challenged.

Mackenzie’s Good News International Church has dominated headlines across the country and worldwide for the past two weeks following the discovery of 103 bodies buried on his vast 800 acres of land in the Shakahola forest.

In that regard, Pastor Ng'ang'a condemned the actions of his fellow man of God for asking his followers to fast for 40 days which presumably led to their deaths, renouncing any rumours of his church resorting to starving its faithful to death, despite the several controversies surrounding it.

"We don't practice that in our church, you can come with biscuits and eat, is it a must to eat? Even if I tell you not to eat, do you have the faith to withstand that?

"In Jerusalem, you eat tea and two toasts in the morning and evening and if you are sick there is a kiosk you can eat. Eat because it is your stomach and you are praising your own God, not mine," he affirmed.

He also chided churches that are fond of carrying out body scans on people at the entrance as a security measure, adding that people should be allowed to enter the church even if they decided to sleep while the preacher is sharing the word of God.

Pastor Ng’ang’a also claimed that he had long discouraged Kenyans from sending him money, adding that he is willing to reverse such mobile money transactions.

He went ahead to dare the State to take him in for questioning about the operations at his Neno Evangelism Church and shed more light on fake pastors, challenging it to deploy police officers to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) waiting to arrest him when he returns to Kenya from abroad, where he is currently.

"The government should come for us, even myself, to investigate all preachers, including me. This is too much now. When I get to the airport, the government should arrest me and take me in for interrogation and ask me what actions these preachers are up to that are leading to the mass deaths of people," dared Ng’ang’a.

Earlier on April 27, Pastor Ezekiel was arrested in Mombasa on suspicion of being pastor Paul Mackenzie's accomplice in the Shakahola massacre and questioned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Interior Cabinet Secretary, Kithure Kindiki, confirmed that Pastor Ezekiel would face criminal charges with regard to the mass killing of his followers.

"It is notified for information of the general public that today Thursday, 27th April 2023, Mr Ezekiel Ombok Odero the Head of New Life Prayer Centre/Church at Mavueni within Malindi Sub-County of Kilifi County has been arrested and is being processed to face criminal charges related to the mass killing of his followers.

"The said Church has been shut down. The over 100 people who were holed up at the premises have been evacuated and will be required to record statements," stated Kindiki in part.

Pastor Ezekiel's lawyer, Jared Magolo, had expressed the belief that Pastor Ezekiel would be released by the end of the day.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Martha Koome announced that investigations were launched against all members of the Judiciary who dealt with Pastor Mackenzie's numerous cases in court.
