KBC management confirmed his passing, stating that he died on Friday, March 21, at his home in Kinoo, Kikuyu Constituency.

The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) community is mourning the loss of journalist Fredrick Parsayo, who worked as a reporter in the editorial department.
KBC management confirmed his passing, stating that he died on Friday, March 21, at his home in Kinoo, Kikuyu Constituency.
While the exact circumstances of his death remain unclear, the government-owned media house noted that investigations are underway to determine the cause.
"It is with heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our esteemed colleague, Fredrick Parsayo, who served as a reporter in the KBC Editorial Department," KBC announced in a statement.

"Fredrick sadly left us on Friday, 21st March 2025, under circumstances that are still being investigated, at his home in the Kinoo-Kikuyu Constituency. This unexpected loss has deeply affected us all."
The state broadcaster further revealed that the incident has been reported to the Kinoo Police Station, and Fredrick's remains have been respectfully taken to St. Teresa Mortuary. His family was also informed of this tragic event.
According to KBC, Fredrick was a cherished member of its Editorial team, and his absence will be profoundly felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.
"On behalf of the KBC Board of Directors, Management, and all our staff, we extend our sincerest condolences to Fredrick's family, friends, and all those impacted by his loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time," added the statement.
Parsayo became part of the media house in 2021 shortly after completing his four-year studies at the University of Nairobi (UoN), where he enrolled in 2018.
During his time at UoN, he specialized in Journalism and Media Studies, focusing on Broadcast Media, and later graduated in 2022.
His passing marks yet another loss in the journalism industry, adding to the number of journalists who have died in recent months. Not too long ago, the media fraternity mourned the death of former KTN news Anchor Njoroge Mwaura.
According to his wife Lucy Njoroge who broke the news on Monday, February 24, Mwaura passed away after developing complications during surgery at a Nairobi hospital.
Mwaura, highly regarded for his eloquence and sharp journalism skills, had been hospitalized for a medical procedure. However, complications emerged, resulting in his untimely passing.
In March last year, Nation Media Group (NMG) journalist, Rita Tinina died, with her body found inside her home in Brooklyn Springs, Kileleshwa, Nairobi, by concerned colleagues. An autopsy later revealed that Tinina had succumbed to pneumonia.
She was expected to present the 1 pm news bulletin at NTV but failed to appear, raising alarm among her coworkers.
