Nilikuingiza Box- Dorcas Rigathi On Gachagua Courting Her At Alliance Girls

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Dorcas Rigathi, on Wednesday, June 7 provided a light-hearted moment of the National Prayer Breakfast thanks to their mini-showdown regarding how they met each other at Alliance Girls High School.

Gachagua set the stage for his comical narration of courting Dorcas while giving his speech in front of invited guests during the event held at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.

He jokingly told off National Assembly Leader of Majority, Kimani Ichung'wah who was earlier chest-thumping regarding schooling at Alliance for his high school education.

"President you and I need to reconcile with Kimani Ichung'wah because he has not been very nice to us. He was in Alliance High School.

"Anytime we have an occasion and he is allowed to speak, he tries to intimidate the president and me even though we are his seniors just because he was in Alliance High School," expressed Gachagua. 

The second-in-command however turned the heat on Ichung'wah, boasting to him and the whole crowd regarding his flirting game with Alliance Girls students, which he used to win over Pastor Dorcas.

"Now you, my brother Kimani Ichung'wah, even if you were at Alliance and I wasn't there, respect me a little bit. I'm the one who visited your Alliance, at Alliance Girls, and confused somebody's daughter. Nikaweka box (I won her over) and we are now married for almost 35 years," Gachagua bragged.

Pastor Dorcas did not take his narrative lying down, and as she had already spoken in front of the audience, she sent Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, who was scheduled to give his vote of thanks, to set the record straight on her behalf, thus avoiding breaking protocol.

"Before I move the vote of thanks, allow me to, on a very light note, be the advocate of Pastor Dorcas Rigathi because she doesn't have a right of reply, having already spoken. When the Deputy President spoke while he was standing before us, he stated that "aliingiza box msichana kutoka Alliance (successfully courted an Alliance Girls student) who is Dorcas Gachagua.

"She whispered to me that now that you're going to speak there and I'm not going to speak, please, go set the record straight. According to Mama Dorcas, yeye ndio alimuingiza box Deputy President, so again Alliance wins," addressed Kingi amidst Dorcas and the attendees erupting in laughter.

It is not the first time Gachagua has reminisced on the times he met Pastor Dorcas across different scenarios in their youth. 

On December 16, 2022, while speaking during the 52nd graduation ceremony at the Kenyatta University (KU) in Nairobi where he was the chief guest, Gachagua opened up on a deal with President William Ruto, among others on which university in Kenya they would wind up getting their future spouses from.

According to them, and according to word on the street at the time, any man who wanted a good woman to build a future with had to join KU.

To prove this, he gave an account of how he met Pastor Dorcas Rigathi at the institution and used tricks up his sleeves to romantically win over her.
