Award-winning Classic 105 presenter, Mike Mondo has been served with a cease and desist letter demanding the deletion of all the photos of the children of popular illustrator and content creator, Rama Oluoch, from his social media platforms.

In the letter dated Tuesday, January 9 seen by Viral Tea and shared by Rama on Wednesday, January 10 on his X account, the content creator through his lawyers accused Mondo of overstepping his boundaries as a boyfriend to the mother of his children as well as violating the privacy and anonymity of the minors.

Furthermore, he accused the radio host of deciding to share photos of Oluoch's children for clout and attention, at the expense of his own.

"Our client instructs us that after parting ways with the mother to his children, you took the bold step of picking up from where he left and he commends you for that. However, he instructs us that with time you developed an aura of pettiness and overstepped your boundaries as a boyfriend to the mother of his children and even had the audacity to start posting photos of his children online," read the letter in part.

"We are further instructed that you have children of your own whom you do not post but you choose to post our client's children for clout and attention and our client wonders to what end."

Oluoch further noted that it would be very unfortunate if Mondo happened to use innocent children to drive listenership and improve ratings for his shows.

He went on to remind Mondo that his capacity as a radio presenter expects him to at the very least be well acquainted with media laws to understand why mass media outlets typically blur and or pixelate the faces of children in photos and videos to protect their privacy and anonymity.

Oluoch cited two instances in which Mondo proceeded to post photos of him and his ex-wife, Shiko Nguru together with their two sons on Instagram, as well as on X, with the latter having caused an uproar among Kenyans On X.

"We are instructed that on 2 different occasions during the festive season, you went ahead and posted photos of you and the mother of our client's children together with their 2 sons on Instagram and the same found its way to the X mobile application and the wrath of Kenyans on X befell you as they called you out for this repugnant and unpalatable behaviour that you had to delete the photo, screenshots of which we have in our possession, all this while not sharing any photos of your own Children," added the letter.

Oluoch viewed that Mondo's actions not only embarrassed him and made him trend at number 1 on the X mobile application but exposed the children to breach of their privacy and possibly set them up for future ridicule and bullying at school "since the adults around them have failed in being objective with their actions."

"It is from the above foregoing that we hereby are instructed to demand that you pull down all the photos of the minors from all your social media platforms, cease and desist from posting such photos ever again and issue an unconditional apology to our client within 72 hours," demanded the lawyers.

The advocates cautioned that failure to heed the demands would accord them mandatory and unequivocal instructions to institute legal proceedings against the radio presenter in a court of law.

Mondo by the time of publishing this story was yet to respond to the demand letter.

The backlash began after it emerged that Mondo and Nguru were in a relationship. Notably, Oluoch and Nguru had announced their separation after more than five years of being together.

Many netizens had questioned why Mondo opted to court a woman who had children with another man as well as why he kept posting his love life on social media.

Shiko Nguru, Mike Mondo Dating Backstory

On a late-night live session on Instagram, the loved-up pair let the public into their private life with details about how their romance blossomed and why they chose and keep choosing each other.

They said although the two had been in communication via email, they officially met during a work meeting. Shiko says she was instantly smitten by Mike's voice when he introduced himself to her.

The lovebirds noted that they immediately struck up a conversation and could not leave each other's side. After parting ways, they agreed to keep the conversation going and according to them, they could communicate on the phone for hours bringing them to the conclusion that they had fallen for each other.

Many believe that this was the Instagram live that worsened the backlash targeted at the couple.

Rama's Split With Shiko Nguru

Meanwhile, upon their separation, Oluoch opened up on their family YouTube channel being taken down after the former couple were among Kenya's first YouTubers and shared lifestyle content on their channel, The Green Calabash.

They shared glimpses into their private lives including filming the home birth of their youngest son, a practice that is growing in popularity across the globe due to its benefits for both the mother and child. At the time the channel was being taken down, they had amassed up to 14 million views and were only 15,000 subscribers short of a YouTube plaque.

In a past KTN interview, Oluoch expressed hope for his children growing up without their right to privacy having been infringed.

“That is why we took down a lot of the content. Kids are growing up and will look different from how they were when they were babies, so I would love for them to have that opportunity to blend into society without that pressure and expectation of being Rama’s son or daughter,” he said.
