24-year-old TV47 news anchor and political reporter Flora Limukii on Wednesday, July 19 made her debut on its revamped Morning Cafe breakfast show following the station's relaunch on Tuesday, July 18.

On top of it all, her debut also featured an exclusive interview with former Meru Governor, Kiraitu Murungi, who on his part opened up on his personal battle with depression stemming from his defeat in the 2022 general election, where he lost the gubernatorial poll to Independent candidate Kawira Mwangaza.

Touted as one of the most vibrant Generation-Z reporters in the country, Limukii will host the breakfast show alongside Stanley Nyaringita and Fred Indimuli, who was recently poached from KTN News.

"Every Monday-Friday from 6 am to 10 am, join Fred Indimuli, Stanely Nyaringita, and Flora Limukii on revamped TV47 breakfast show, Morning Cafe, as they kickstart your day with a lively and open discussion on issues affecting you, alongside seasoned policymakers, politicians, academicians, and experts in various fields.

"This is sprinkled with a look at newspaper stories making headlines, traffic updates, weather, and some entertainment," the station announced.

Limukii, a viral reporter on Twitter, as well as Indimuli, known for his 17 years of media experience at the likes of Citizen TVK24, and Indika Media, feature in a breakfast show time slot considered to be vital for TV stations seeking to take advantage of the audience so used to morning radio shows to propel themselves to greater heights.

As Viral Tea had previously reported, TV47 also launched its state-of-the-art studios and notably moved locations to Muthaiga North Road, Nairobi from Ojijo Road in Parklands during an event attended by ICT Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eliud Owalo and Bungoma County Governor Kenneth Lusaka.

It also unleashed renowned news anchors and reporters, some of whom were well-known in other media houses, in a move to set the bar high in the broadcast media space.

The latest additions also include Grace Kuria from BBC, George Maringa and Ahmed Bahajj from KTN News, Victor Muyakane, Mwanaisha Chidzuga and Hibaq Said.

Sheila Chelangat, Dennis Otieno, Andrine Kilemi, Joash Onsare, Eric Munene, Elizabeth Mutuku, Linda Alela, and Paul Kirobi were also part of the station's revamp.

Speaking during the event, CS Owalo expressed his delight at TV47 for embracing technology in the current digital landscape.

“In an era of rapid technological advancement where news is often consumed through digital platforms, TV47 is adapting to the changing landscape while following its key mandate and core values. With this relaunch we should witness a fusion of traditional broadcasting and cutting-edge digital innovations,” he stated.

The ICT CS urged the media to work together with the government as partners for the well-being of Kenyan society.

“By working together we can foster a constructive and productive relationship that benefits our nation as a whole. We need to look at ourselves as partners. Integral partners with mutually beneficial roles and mandates for the good and well-being of the Kenyan society,” he added.
