Beauty entrepreneur and Marini Naturals Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Michelle Ntalami has come out to set the record straight on numerous reports that have dominated gossip headlines regarding her dating and relationships life.

In a nine-paragraph statement posted on Instagram on Thursday, January 19, Ntalami expressed that she wanted to clear things up for good regarding a false narrative that she 'denies' her partners.

She added that her previous relationship was riddled with mistrust and the nature of it saw her feeling uneasy to reveal it to the public. In addition, the pressure of the comments she had to provide to the media on the same saw them agree mutually to deny in the event they are approached with questions on the relationship.

"Let me begin with accountability on my part. I’ve learnt from past mistakes with regard to this. I was once in a relationship where due to its nature and a lot of mistrust within it, I didn’t feel confident to publicly confirm it.

"I also felt pressured to have to say what we were to the media. We mutually agreed that if they ask, we’ll ‘deny.’ Something we both did in interviews, not just myself," she stated.

Ntalami looked back and noted that this was something she would have done differently. Other issues aside at the time, she announced that she took accountability for her part in the matter and resolved to do things differently since that period.

She added that in the event that she would be comfortable opening up about her relationships, she would answer with the truth.

"Moving forward, “private but not a secret” is my policy. If I’m comfortable to speak on my dating life, I’ll answer with the truth; yes, no, or the much I can share. (e.g good friends for now, etc)

"If not comfortable, I’ll reserve my right to answer. Anything in between or beyond that is no one’s business," she added.

She made reference to an interview with Milele FM presenter Ankali Ray where she assured that she was just friends with singer Fena Gitu after photos of them together ignited relationship rumours.

"To see some blogs misquote me and use the word ’deny’ for clicks & controversy is wrong. Where is the denial? Why ask questions if you already know the answers? Let’s report stories truthfully.

"Secondly, I have several male and masc-women friends. I request people to stop assuming we’re dating or there’s more to it, each time I’m seen with them or if we share moments online. Then when I clarify the truth, it’s termed as a ‘denial.’ Stop. Until I confirm my relationships, drop the speculations," she added.

Ntalami then revealed that despite her loving privately, she loves loudly, which is what her character comprises. However, she asserted that she does not owe anyone any explanations for her personal life and owes herself a life of truth instead.

She urged her followers to let people be and let the past rest without bringing it up every time she is, for example, seen to be happy and going about her life.

She also advocated for space and grace for people to become the best version of themselves once they know and do better.

"Finally, I may love privately, but I love loudly. It’s who I am. However, I don’t owe anyone any explanation for my personal life.

"What I do owe myself though, is a life of truth. As anyone can attest, I Iive my life authentically & unapologetically. That said, I also value my peace and privacy. When the time comes and I’m 100 per cent sure of my person, rest assured it will be no secret," she concluded.
