Kenyan singer Arrow Bwoy, real name Ali Yusuf, on Friday, August 4 began a fundraiser, appealing to fans to contribute to him to meet Nadia Mukami's bride price to make their relationship official.

In a post on his Instagram stories, the Raha hitmaker admitted that the couple were not yet officially married, confirming Mukami's claims that he was yet to pay the required dowry to her parents before tying the knot with her.

He appealed to his fans to contribute through his mobile money number as he was working on alternative ways his fans can use to raise funds to facilitate the dowry payment.

"It's true that I don't have a wife because I've not met her bride price. I'm asking you (my fans) to contribute to me, please, through this number 0704 403403 as the pay bill is being sorted out," he wrote in part.

During an earlier interview with Kiss FM, Mukami boldly claimed that she is still eligible to be with someone else as a result of Arrow Bwoy yet to meet the dowry requirements, arguing that their relationship was temporary.

Not willing to mince her words, Mukami claimed that focus can be shifted to other individuals elsewhere as a way of exploring their options before deciding whom he or she will spend eternity with.

“I am single as far as I know until the father of my child pays my dowry. It's a fact. I'm not married, he has not paid any dowry to my parents. He is with me on credit.

"I'm still in the market. We need to tell our men that if you have not paid the dowry, then one leg is here and the other is elsewhere," she said.

The singer emphasized the importance of traditional customs and the significance of dowry payment in establishing a committed relationship, adding that without the formal acknowledgement through dowry payment, she views herself as only a girlfriend, not a wife.

Mukami challenged Arrow Bwoy to see to it that the dowry he pays should be commensurate with her value in terms of the size of her brand and academic qualifications.

“He should marry me officially. I am free, and if you really want me to say I am married, you have my parent’s address. I am a lady who is very learned and is very high, and I am a brand.

"My father invested so much in me. I did not go to schools where people eat Githeri, so the dowry is high, and he needs to invest in this babe," she went on.

Back in 2022, Arrow Bwoy did an interview where he jokingly said he was planning on taking sugarcane to his in-laws as bride price.

Nadia and Arrow Bwoy's love life could be traced as far back as July 2020 when she denied being involved with him romantically after rumours started to go around that the two were seeing each other.

In February 2019, the 26-year-old singer released the track Radio Love featuring Arrow Bwoy. This was the start of their working relationship as Arrow would later disclose that it was Nadia who reached out to him regarding the music project.

In July 2020, the Maombi singer denied being involved with Arrow Bwoy romantically after reports and speculation started to go around that the two were seeing each other.

“I am single and working on my business, Arrow Bwoy and I never dated. What happened was that a blogger wrote the story and we just decided to run with it, we used it to push our music,” she said while on an interview with media personality Jalang’o.

She added: “The next relationship has to lead to marriage I have been telling my friends I wanna settle down wananishangaa! I don’t like games in relationships, I have never dated for fun!”

In August 2021, the two artistes surprised fans by sharing a raunchy photo of themselves kissing on a beach, with Arrow supporting her as she leapt towards him for a kiss, her legs wrapped around her waist.

The post would later spark accusations of clout chasing on social media, with their fans thinking that they were using the romantic moment to promote a new song.

In the same month, the pair went on an Instagram Live session, confirming that they are an item.
